Mike Bottom, Co-Head Men's Swimming Coach at the University of California at Berkeley, who coached athletes from five different countries in the 2000 Olympic games in Sydney, stands behind us. His athletes medaled seven times at the Sydney games. Mike's athletes have also won NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) championships and have been tested by the NCAA drug testing board. Garrett Giemont, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers and 25 year veteran of the NFL, has been a product development consultant to CytoSport since our inception. We are not on the prohibited dietary supplement list for the NFL (National Football League). Little wonder, several NFL teams, including the Oakland Raiders, use our products.
Dr. George Brooks PhD sits on the board of advisors for CytoSport. During his graduate studies at the University of Michigan, his extensive research in the areas of "Oxygen Debt" and "Anaerobic Threshold" lead to several hypotheses and fundamental revisions in understanding of the metabolic response to exercise. The knowledge gained in these efforts led to the invention of PolyLactate and the formulation of the original Cytomax.
Dr. Brooks will be recognized for his lifetime of outstanding scientific contributions related to sports medicine and exercise science at the forthcoming 2007 Awards and Tributes Committee of the American College of Sports Medicine. He will be awarded the Honor Award at the Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana. The ACSM Honor Award is the highest award of the College given to only one individual each year.
